After driving 2 and half hours through driving rain I arrived at Ferry bridge mariner to find only three other vehicles there with people standing aound there kit and no one out on the water. So rigged my 7.5 and waited for about 15 min when a large cloud brought the wind with it. I had about three good runs and then the wind just dropped, luckily I was next to the car park, so did not have far to walk. Unfortunatley someone else had to walk the whole length of the harbour, as luck would have it as soon as he got back to the car park the wind kicked in straight to a solid F5. Spent the rest of the day blasting up and down the beach with about a dozen other sailors, at some points in the afternoon the sun even made a short appearance. I found I was holding on to the 7.5 even when it was gusting up to a top end of a 5, which gives me more confidence for holding on to a 9.0 meter at this summers HiHo. All in all a great start to 2008.
